Jessica Field
GRRIPP Thematic Lead on Communications and Dissemination
Dr Jessica Field is an interdisciplinary historian and social scientist at the Institute for Risk and Disaster Reduction, University College London. Jessica is a Lecturer in Humanitarian Studies and her work examines the history and politics of humanitarian assistance and disaster relief, particularly in South Asia. She has worked on the Rohingya refugee crisis in South Asia, and disaster governance in India. Recent publications include a co-edited book (2020) with Dr Srinivas Burra and UNHCR, The Global Compact on Refugees: Indian Perspectives and Experiences, and several articles on disaster governance in Ladakh, India.
In addition to her academic research and teaching, Jessica has worked on
reports, policy research and events with Save the Children UK and India, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees India, the Development and Justice Initiative, India, and the Rohingya Human Rights Initiative in Delhi. Jessica also holds positions as an Adjunct Associate Professor at O.P. Jindal Global University, Sonipat, India and a Research Fellow with the Humanitarian and Conflict Response Institute, University of Manchester.
